it only aplies to older versions of Jar Bundler that use Java 1.4 by default.
Java 5.0 for Mac OS X Apps
If your application requires Java 5.0 (J2SE 1.5), you need to tell the
Jar
Bundler. On the Jar Bundler's first screen (
Mac
Java! step #8), be sure to specify the "JVM Version" as
1.4+ and not just
1.4*.
Then instruct your customers to download Java 5.0 from Apple and configure
their machines appropriately.
For example:
Upgrade (Download and Install) --
Before you can run XYZ on your Mac, you need to upgrade Java to
version 5.0. Get the Java update directly from Apple at:
The install should start automatically when the download is finished.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the install (you'll need to enter
your password just like you do when you perform the regular
"Software Update..." for you Mac).
Configure (Java Preferences) --
Now use "Finder" to go into the following folders: "Applications" then
"Utilities" then "Java" and finally "J2SE 5.0". Open "Java
Preferences" and in the "Java Application Runtime Settings" section, drag
"J2SE 5.0" to the top of the list. Click the "Save" button and you
are ready to run XYZ.
Your Mac customers can now take advantage of your application running on Java
5.0.
